What it does

Smart List Buttons adds custom buttons to the header of list pages and open records, plus fast navigation tools for your team and developer shortcuts for admins.

Main features

• Smart buttons on list pages and inside open records (left, right or both sides of the header), each with its own label, icon and link.
• Smart variables in links: {entityType}, {scope}, {userId}, {currentUrl}, {baseUrl}.
• Show a button on all entities or only selected ones, open in a new tab, or make it admin-only.
• Entity Navigator (default Ctrl+Shift+E): search and jump to any entity the user is allowed to see.
• Developer tools for admins: one-click links to Entity Manager, Layouts, Fields, Relationships and Search Layout of the current entity.
• Command palette for admins (default Ctrl+D): search admin pages, entities, layouts and fields, with recent searches.

How to use

• Go to Administration → FirstMarkets Tools → Smart List Buttons.
• Click Add Button, set the label, choose an icon and enter the link (e.g. #{entityType}/create).
• Choose Show in all entities or select specific entities; tick Show inside open record to show it on detail pages and choose the position.
• Enable Entity Navigator, Developer tools and Command palette from the same page and set the shortcuts you prefer.
• Click Save, then refresh the browser.

Settings & permissions

• Buttons and the Entity Navigator work for all users; developer tools and the command palette are admin-only.
• The navigator only lists entities the user has read access to.
• Admin only hides a button from regular users in the interface; do not put secrets in button links.

Notes

• After installing or updating: Administration → Clear Cache, then hard refresh (Ctrl+F5).
• If the license is not active, all buttons and tools are disabled until a valid key is entered.
